This week has been amazing! It has been busy, busy, busy and full of amazing miracles. Miracles I don’t believe I can even adequately describe in words. I am so grateful to be serving a mission and seeing the Lord’s hand sweeping through the nations preparing the way for his return! This week was so busy that I am just going to do similar to last week and just hit the highlights!
Most of the highlights will have to do with Ho Jaewon 허재원! But the first one is Courtney’s B-Day was this week and she leaves in 3 days to go on her mission! So Congrats to her! She is going to do great!
The next one is we met with Ho Jaewon every day this week! Every time we met him he was more prepared than we had thought and it was so amazing! Every time we met with him we saw some amazing miracles! We met him a lot and on Thursday we met him with the zone leaders. He had his baptismal interview and all went well he passed!
On the same day of his baptismal interview we had a zone conference to say goodbye to President Christensen! It was hard but a really good conference! The zone actually came to Wonju for the conference which was really nice as well! It was a really great day!
Then we came to Saturday! Today was a day I will remember for the rest of my life! We left early and went to the church, we turned on the font and listened to it fill up as we studied! What a great sound it was! We then set up and members started to come, Ho Jaewon then arrived with his bags because he left to go to Jeju Island his hometown for 2 months right after his baptism! We had a great baptismal service! The members gave great talks, he was so happy and did so great! He has grown so much in our time meeting with him! He is an amazing person! After the talks we got in the font and he was baptized! It was amazing! I asked him how he felt in the bathroom after I gave him a huge hug and he said, “a little strange, but really good strange!” My companion then gave him the gift of the Holy Ghost! It was such an amazing experience! After the service we had to say goodbye which was sooo hard! We both love him so much! He went to Jeju island for the summer but will go to church there!
That night after the baptism we went to a sister in our wards house, her husband passed away and she needed some heavy lifters so my companion and I were on the job! We moved some heavy furniture, 4 big cabinets 2 fridges and a freezer! Once I was walking backwards and forgot I was in Korea so I smashed my head on the door frame super hard! It hurt pretty bad but I was laughing pretty hard! The Sister Lee was so grateful and fed us some delicious meat! It was a lot of fun!
The last thing I wanted to talk about is the follow-up with Ho Jaewon. We told Ho Jaewon we would call him soon after his baptism but before we got the chance, he called us the next day, Sunday. He said he had gone to church and met with the Elder who we called in Jeju and told them to find him. He said he loved church and the branch. Neither Elder Ashby or I could believe he was the same person. He was so different, more mature, more confident, less awkward, more happy, more loving and all around just amazing! After the call we both looked at each other in shock and awe and the miracle of the gospel. We were so grateful for the change we have seen the gospel take in his life! He has grown so much more than I thought possible in these last few months! He is doing so great and is just an amazing person! What a blessing it was to see him change and become new and better through this wonderful message! I am so grateful to have seen the influence of the gospel so brilliantly displayed in someones life! I am so grateful for the atonement of Jesus Christ that reaches out to all and includes all of our feelings! I am grateful for that very atonement that truly leaves no scars! I am grateful for this gospel and the joy it brings! I love you all so much and I hope you have a great week! I am excited to talk to you next week!
